Poets of Carew!

Carew students did marvellously well in the poetry competition, I am so proud of you all!

Here are some of the winning poems.

The Mountain by Arabella.

The mountain was usual enough;
It had wise people, thick snow and little rocks.
It had dirty huts and very high weeds.
My friends, my cousins, and I
Did what children do
Climbed the highest mountain in the universe!
Yelled out loud “I’m the king of the mountain!”
Skied in thick snow.
Threw ginormous snow balls at each other.
Doing nothing important.

The Tinwald Train by Angus
 (Angus was in Room 2 at the time of writing this poem, so I'm claiming him for Room 2!)

The train was usual enough;
It had an old shed, shiny tracks, a sooty train, a long station and a huge junction.
My brothers, my parents and I
Did what passengers do
Collected the tickets, rode in the carriage, rang the brass bell and watched the train.
We played on the playground
Doing nothing important.

The Pond by Islay

The underwater pond was usual enough
It had green seaweed, coloured fish and sea shells.
It had mussels, sparkly treasure and a red starfish.
My friends, my family and I
Did what people do
Swam in the cold water, dived in the deep pond, looked and saw coloured fish, collected pond shells and fed the fish.
Doing nothing important.
