I woke up early in the morning and got ready for school and the chicken farm visit. When we all got there it was fun. “Bok, bok!” said the chickens. There were small, scared chickens and there were tall chickens. Some fat roosters were as fat as a lamb. We went on Wednesday, we were going to go on Thursday but it was raining, the rain was as hard as hail stones. Jivarn
“Prak, prak! - what’s that?” I think that’s a chicken in the chicken farm. The chicken is as fat as a monster. A chicken is brown, why is the chicken brown? Solomon
“Wowee!.... we’re at the bok bok farm.” “Look at all the different chickens” said Arabella. “There are big hens too, don’t forget” said Samantha and I said “I am going to play ‘follow the leader’ so we did.
I laughed at the big fat rooster, it was fat like an elephant. “Where are we?” I asked We’re at the chicken farm” said Samantha. “Oh, that’s interesting. “Look at all the chickens” I said. “Look at that big fat one” “I know, it’s big hey..” “Ha ha, look at that one” Amber
“Bock, bock, bock! - what was that?” That was a chicken, so that means we are at the chicken farm - yay! At the chicken farm there was poo that was squishy like squashed banana.. The chickens were going “bock” There was a fat chicken that was as fat as a pig. There was a small pigeon that had really fluffy tail feathers and it looked really funny, like a peacock showing off.
At John’s house there were ducks and chickens in his garden. We found two lots of duck eggs and some were warm like sheet mat in someones house and one lot of duck eggs were cold like water in the pool. Ruby

We went to the stinky bok bok farm! - it was so exciting. When we got there, there were small hens and big chickens. One black one was as black as midnight and as fat as my labrador. There was one chicken that was all colours, it was white, orange and cuddly. In the background there was a quacky black duck.
Arabella
“Yippee!” it is chicken farm day, we are going to the noisy chicken farm. At the chicken farm there was a white spotty chick, it was as spotty as a poka dot pillow and its feet were as black as the midnight sky. There were free ranged chickens and some of the roosters and chickens were in cages. It was so muddy there, it was as muddy as a yucky water race. There were pigeons and wood pigeons and the ducks were as cool as peacocks. The pigeons were as funny as a clown juggling and the wood pigeons were as colourful as a rainbow. Islay
We went to the stinky muddy chicken farm. There was icky sticky smelly mud, I shouted “ it’s stinky!” There were some multi coloured chickens. There were big fat chickens as big as elephants. We saw eggs that were tiny. One of the roosters had fluffy feathers. Katelynn
“Bokort!” “Wow! - what was that?” We did go to the chicken farm so it would have been a chicken. There were small hens and big roosters. One pecked me, and I said “ow!” then I got to pat one and it was as soft as some sheep fur. I said “It’s too muddy here” I laughed when Angus fell in the mud. I said “ha ha” to Angus and he just frowned at me... I didn’t appreciate it but I got used to it in a couple of minutes.

An amazing chicken farm. “Cock a doodle do!” the giant rooster said. The giant rooster’s tail feathers were as black as night time. Hayden
“Bok, bok, bok” “Yikes Room 2 are at the chicken farm. the chickens are as humungus as giants. Amber is holding one. There are skinny chickens, fat chickens, fluffy ones, tall ones, ugly ones and one chicken fat like a fat lady. Satevah
“Bok” said the chicken. We laughed because the chicken looked funny. I got to hold a chicken. I let go and it ran away. There was slippery mud everywhere. We were stuck by mud. I found a nest of Paradise Duck eggs. They are like snow eggs. Grady.

“Bok, bok, bok!” “Yikes, what was that?” “That’s right” said mum, Di and me. “It’s probably a chicken, because we are at the chicken farm” “Hey, you guys! I found some eggs, but I don’t know what kind they are” They are as white as a cloud. They are paradise duck eggs. “Look that’s ginormous” I said. Angus
“Beep, beep, beep!” I got ready for school. When we got to the chicken farm I looked at all the different chickens. There were fat chickens as fat as a whale. The chickens made this noise “bork, bork, bork!” they yelled. I held a chicken and it felt soft and smooth. George.
Many thanks to John for allowing us to visit his fascinating chicken farm. Also thank you to all the wonderful parents who helped with transporting muddy children to and from the chicken farm with good grace and humour. Special thanks to Angus and Kelly who did gate opening for us!
